WORK DIRECTLY WITH KEILI RAVEN
If you are looking at the possibility of receiving my tutoring services, you have landed in the right spot.
It has been my pleasure to work with amazing students and families throughout my 19 year career in education, and I’m thrilled that you would like to learn more about working directly with me.
Teaching students at virtually all levels (grade school through post college) and with a wide variety of learning styles has taught me many things:
- I can help any student who is open to receiving help.
- It’s very important to learn about who your student is, not just about what s/he can do.
- Tutoring does not have to be mind-numbing...it helps to have fun and allow students to be themselves.
- As far as exams are concerned (academic as well as standardized tests), performance depends on both content knowledge and test taking strategy. Many students think they need help with the former, and they underestimate the assistance they need with the latter.
- Most students want to do well in school and on standardized tests; often, they just haven’t learned how to do so.
- Students, parents, teachers, and tutors working together make a very powerful team; parents, teachers, and tutors are a wonderfully strong support system for students.
So...
If you resonate with the ideas that I have expressed above, I’d like to invite you to apply (for yourself or your child) to receive my tutoring services.
The student's grade on a similar assignment before tutoring with me was 17/25 (68%).
In a tutor-student-family relationship, it is very important for us to be a good fit for each other. To that end, I’d like to share the kind of student and family that I’m looking for:
- A student with a great work ethic
- A student who has a fun personality and is a pleasure to work with
- A student who wants to get better grades/scores
- A student who is open to receiving academic support
- A family that is dependable and honors their appointments
- A family who is open to communicating with me
- A family who is committed to working as a team for the benefit of their student
I also work with many students who identify with one or more of the following descriptions:
- Are struggling with one or more subjects in school, but want to do better
- Have been diagnosed with a condition that necessitates that they have extra time to complete tests
- Have a learning disability and need strategies to use in order to reach their academic goals
- Are doing very well in school, but want to get a competitive advantage by learning more than what is being taught in the classroom
- Need help with executive functioning
- Want to learn, but struggle with understanding some or all of their homework
- Need help preparing for college admission tests
- Have low confidence in their academic abilities and think they are just not good at one or more subjects, or school in general
